Bill Clinton was the first democrat in 12 years. He said he wouldn’t be too liberal or too conservative, but in the middle. He promised to improve the government by making it smaller, getting rid of debts, working with business, and reducing welfare. He raised taxes on higher income groups and reduced spending. Under Clinton, unemployment dropped and the stock market soared. Everything was perfect, until Clinton was caught with a younger White House intern. He was voted to be impeached by the House, but not the Senate, so he didn’t get impeached.
